NORTHDOWN PARK - THE STAN TEST

NORTHDOWN PARK PASSES THE STAN TEST

Today my grandson Stanley (4) tried out the new children's play facilities in Northdown Park and it's a 'ten out of ten' from Stan for fun and excitement.

The playground in Northdown Park has been revamped as per resident’s chosen designs implemented as part of the council’s Playground Improvement Scheme.

Park users were consulted in August on their preferred designs.

During my time as council leader my cabinet agreed to the refurbishment of four play areas across Thanet and Northdown Park was one of them.

Nine companies bid for the works through a full tender process and the designs were evaluated by council officers on a range of criteria around competence, build capability and play value.

I met with a council officer today in Northdown Park and he further assured me that the play area will soon be completely fenced and picnic tables will also be provided.

Full marks to Cllr Johnston for seeing the project through from the very start as the cabinet member responsible, right through to completion of the project as leader.
